Tumblr is a Micro-blog cite that was created in New York City by David Karp in 2007. Today, Tumblr has upwards of 3 million users and gets nearly 5 billion page views a day tumblr. It is considered a micro-blog because you can upload small files (anything from pictures to a couple of written sentences). This information then gets sent to a website and can be viewed by a private group or the public. Many social networking sites (such as facebook) have micro-blog features. Micro-blogs have become good ways to gain access to news instantly wikipedia. Tumblr offers a whole host of features. First they have hundreds of web layout themes, you can get them for free, or pay for a fancier set up. You can even create your own theme. You can access Tumblr through a free iphone app and e-mail or text updates from any mobile phone. Tumblr also has a very easy system in place to publish almost anything you want. You can post text, photos, quotes, links, dialogues, audio, video, slideshows, and more. However, if you don’t want your Tumblr to be viewable by the public there are privacy options. If you do choose to keep your blog public, there are many features you can use. You can change your Tumblr settings to automatically post new entries to Facebook, Twitter and vice versa. You can set up blogs that multiple people can comment on or share, and with Tumblr’s Terms of Service you have a copyright over all of your work. You can also get noticed by other tumblers if your page is interesting enough to be suggested to the directory tumblr. Tumblr is blogging made easy.
